Your battery, planned around your power prices.
Most home batteries still run on factory settings: charge from solar, discharge whenever the house needs it. We fit a smart controller that plans every day around your Synergy or Horizon Power tariff and the weather, so stored energy is used when grid power costs the most.
- Works with the battery you already have

With today’s tariffs, when you use stored power matters as much as how much you store
Time-of-use tariffs now price electricity by the hour of the day. A battery that doesn’t know the clock spends its charge in the wrong hours.
Cheap middays, expensive evenings
Synergy’s time-of-use plans, such as Midday Saver, make power cheapest from 9am to 3pm and dearest from 3pm to 9pm.
Exports pay more after 3pm
Under the Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS), energy you export between 3pm and 9pm earns more than energy exported in the middle of the day.
Winter tests a battery
Short, cloudy days mean solar alone often can’t fill the battery. A smart plan tops it up in the cheap window instead of leaving you on peak prices.
Same battery. Smarter day.
Set up an example site below: a home, a business, a commercial or industrial site, or a farm. This demonstration models one weekday hour by hour: a battery on factory settings versus the same battery scheduled by our smart controller.
Edit rates and limits
Example rates for illustration only. Check your current Synergy or Horizon Power bill or contract; rates change each July. Default home and small-business rates are Synergy’s published 2026-27 prices including GST (Home Plan A1, Midday Saver, Business R1) and the buyback scheme; export credits for business systems vary. C&I energy prices are examples. The C&I demand charge reflects Western Power’s RT6 network tariff (about $419 per kVA per year), which is set by the site’s highest half-hour of demand in the past 12 months.
This calculator uses example assumptions and example tariff rates to show how battery optimisation works. It is not a quote, an estimate or a prediction of your savings. Your actual results depend on your site: your battery and inverter, solar system, tariff, the weather and how you use energy. We only estimate savings after reviewing your own data.

What you buy from the grid, and when
Demonstration only, general information, not financial advice. Figures are illustrative and do not include the cost of the controller, installation or subscription. Model: a typical weekday load profile for the chosen site type; typical solar yield for the chosen day; 90% battery round-trip efficiency; battery power of half its capacity per hour (at least 5 kW); 10% reserve; solar above the export limit is curtailed; demand treated as kW = kVA and the annual demand charge shown as a daily share. The smart schedule assumes an accurate forecast of the day; a real controller works from weather and usage forecasts and re-plans through the day, so real results can be lower. Actual savings depend on your site and are not guaranteed.
30% off the controller. 10% off your subscription, for as long as you stay.
We’re opening 10 places on our battery optimisation service at launch pricing. Your savings are measured every month, and if they don’t show up within 90 days, we remove the controller and refund your subscription.
What you get
- 30% off the smart controller
- 10% off your monthly subscription, for as long as you stay subscribed
- Installed and supported by our own team
- A monthly report: what you paid versus what factory settings would have cost
- A direct line to the people who installed it
Our 90-day promise
After 90 days we sit down with you and your report. If the controller hasn’t beaten factory settings on your bill, we’ll remove it at no cost and refund the subscription fees you’ve paid.
Measured by the controller’s own report against a factory-settings baseline.
Proven, then measured
The control technology already runs on thousands of sites around Australia. Your monthly report shows what it does on yours, in dollars.
Launch offer limited to 10 sites. Discounts apply to Noor Energy’s standard pricing at the time of order. The 90-day promise covers removal of the controller and a refund of subscription fees paid; it doesn’t cover the controller purchase price. Eligibility depends on a compatible battery and inverter. Full terms are provided with your quote.
It plans the day, then keeps re-planning it
A small controller is installed beside your inverter. It works with most major battery and inverter brands, so you keep the equipment you have.
Looks ahead
Forecasts tomorrow’s solar from the weather and your home’s usage from its own history.
Sizes each charge
Works out how much to store, when to top up in the cheap window, and how much to hold for the peak.
Adjusts as the day unfolds
Re-plans through the day when clouds roll in or the house uses more than expected, and stays within network export limits.
Shows what it saved
Compares your actual costs with what the same battery would have cost on factory settings, so the value is measured, not assumed.

Local supportQuestions we hear most
Do I need a new battery or inverter?
No. The controller works with most major battery and hybrid-inverter brands. Tell us your make and model when you book and we’ll confirm compatibility before any work starts.
How much will I save?
It depends on your battery, solar, tariff and how your household uses power, so we don’t quote a figure up front. The calculator above gives a feel for it; your review includes an estimate for your home with the assumptions written down.
I’m on Synergy’s standard flat-rate plan. Is it worth it?
On a flat rate the price is the same all day, so there is less to optimise. For many battery owners the bigger win is moving to a time-of-use plan and having the battery follow it. We’ll check which suits you in the review.
I’m in a VPP or applying for a battery rebate. Does this conflict?
If your battery received the WA Residential Battery Scheme rebate, it has to stay in Synergy’s or Horizon Power’s virtual power plant for the first two years, and the VPP can use it during events on very hot or cold days. We’ll check your VPP terms first and only recommend settings that work alongside it. Batteries that only received the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount don’t have to join a VPP.
Will I still have backup power in an outage?
Yes, if your system supports backup. You choose how much charge to keep in reserve and the plan works around it.
Does it affect my warranty?
The controller uses the standard control interfaces the manufacturer provides and keeps the battery within its operating limits.
I’m a Horizon Power customer. Can you help?
Yes. We support Horizon Power customers in regional towns, and the controller can be monitored and adjusted remotely.
